Tallinn - Capital Of Estonia

 

The capital city of Estonia, it was used to be known by the name of Reval from the 13th century until 1917 and again when it was ruled by the Nazis in 1944. 32.7% of Estonia lives in Tallinn. The average tempature of Tallinn is usually cold as it is almost always under 15 celsius. 

 

Tallinn - In The Past

 

In 1154, one town named Qlwn was put on the world map by the muslim Muhammad al-Idrisi. He called it a "small town like a castle". It was also listed to be one of the towns Astlanda. Some say that Qlwn has turned into modern day Tallinn.

 

The Origin Of The Name

 

The word Tallinn is definitely from Estonian translating into Danish-castle/town.
